Network and Systems Programming Jobs With Python

Wednesday November 8, 2006
It is more than feeling. Statistics show that unemployment and poverty are real concerns for many people right now. About the only non-manual job that is seeing regular employment growth in the US is higher education. With 12% of the US living below the poverty line and a minimum 5% of the workforce unemployed, it is easy to see why there is an increase in enrollment and retraining.

If you can program in Python, you have a head start on the future. Python programmers are increasingly in demand. The average Python developer in Seattle, Washington, for example, makes around $74,000 per annum. In the UK, a Python programmer makes a minimum of £38,282 p.a. ($73,281 USD p.a).

Here are a few more employers who are seeking Python programmers, this time for system and network programming. (For web development jobs see this entry.) As usual, if you are looking for a job or would like to change jobs, be sure to look at the new jobs section.

Finally, if you just happened upon this site, and wonder what Python is or how to learn it, use the navigation links to the left to enter a brave new world.
