Python Game Programming Challenge No.5 starts Sunday. If you are up for the challenge, be sure to register. The challenge runs until 9 September 2007, and winners will be announced on the 23rd. Entries can be on an individual or team basis but must be from "scratch". No personal libraries are allowed unless you have already released yours for public usage. More information can be found in reading the rules of the challenge.

If you know Python but are unsure about this game programming scene, why not work through a tutorial first? You can find a list of game programming tutorials under "Advanced Python".
