Further on P2P as Dangerous

Wednesday October 10, 2007
Following on from the recent post about peer-to-peer as dangerous, a US District Court handed down a very stiff fine for illegal use of a peer-to-peer client. After being sued by the RIAA, Jammie Thomas of Brainerd, Minnesota, was recently found guilty of pirating illegal music. While she will not spend time in jail, she will be required to pay $222,000, $9,250 for each of the 24 songs involved in the case.
