How a Computer Reads a Program

Sunday November 4, 2007
Aside from the technical and technological, About's Python site has a plethora of tutorials geared to those who know little or nothing about programming. If you have programmed in other languages and are just coming to Python, you will find the "Hello, World!" tutorial a quick way to get up to speed. But if you have never programmed a computer before (or know someone who has not), you should consider the programming tutorial for non-programmers: "How a Computer Reads a Program." It covers the basics of what computers do with code and how programmers can tell computers to do what they want. Of course, if you think your computer comes with a cup holder, you might want to find other help.
