Give One, Get One: One Laptop Per Child

Tuesday November 13, 2007
OLPC Logo
The One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) programme is about empowering children of developing countries to learn by providing one connected laptop to every school-age child. The software on the laptops is largely written in Python. What's more, a button on the laptop allows the child to see the Python code that underlies a given program - thus encouraging children to learn programming in our beloved language.

But that's not all. Between 12 November and 26 November, OLPC is offering a Buy One Get One programme. Buy a laptop for the developing world, and they wills end one to you as well!
