Python has risen two slots in TIOBE's monthly roster of programming language popularity, moving from no.8 in January 2007 to no.6 in Janury 2008, and has become a must-know language. Using TIOBE's criteria, Python has supplanted Perl in terms of both popularity and need-to-know.
