TIOBE Software has declared Python the Language of the Year for 2007! Python has risen two slots in TIOBE's monthly roster of programming language popularity, moving from no.8 in January 2007 to no.6 in Janury 2008, and has become a must-know language. Using TIOBE's criteria, Python has supplanted Perl in terms of both popularity and need-to-know.
