Part 1: Laying the Groundwork with HTML, CGI, and PHP

If one puts this application on a general web server, one will want to allow each user his or her own preferences. You will probably want to add to this application in the long term (and we will in coming months), as well. For these reasons you will require a more sophisticated data repository eventually, but, for now, we are keeping it simple.
